What is ITIL® (version 5)?

ITIL® (version 5) is the latest release of the globally acknowledged IT Infrastructure Library framework. It provides guidance to businesses and individuals on how to use modern IT Service Management practices combined with an Agile mindest and the usage of AI to meet ever-changing business needs and deliver value to its users. ITIL® is supported by a comprehensive certification scheme, which spans knowledge from the principles to how the entire framework fits together.

What is the difference between the ITIL® (version 5) Foundation exam and the bridge exam?

The bridge exam can only be taken by ITIL®4 certificate holders.

The normal exam:

  • 40 questions
  • 60 minutes

Bridge exam:

  • 20 questions
  • 30 minutes

For both you need 65% to pass.

How much time do I have for the actual ITIL® (version 5) Foundation bridge exam?

For the ITIL® (version 5) Foundation bridge exam, you have 30 minutes by default, but you get 25% extra time if English is not your native language.

In which languages can I take the official ITIL® (version 5) Foundation bridge exam?

As of 12.02.2026, the exam is only available in English, but over time the following languages will be added as well:

How does the official mock exam work?

After purchasing the official ITIL® (version 5) Foundation mock exam, we will generate a voucher code for you.

With that, you will need to register an account at peoplecert.org to access the mock exam under the “Overview” menu section.

Here, you can click “START” to begin the test.

  • First, you get introduced to the official exam tool, which will also be used for the actual exam
  • Then, you need to accept the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
  • Now, you will receive the instructions on how to navigate the tool
  • And finally, by clicking “Start Exam” the fun begins
  • At the end of your Mock Exam, you will receive a test report with full marked results, indicating areas of improvement
How much time do I have for the mock exam?

The voucher can be redeemed after up to 12 months from the date of purchase.

Once you start your mock exam, you have 24 hours to complete it.

How many questions are included in the mock exam?

This mock exam contains 40, officially approved mock exam questions, provided directly by PeopleCert.

How close are the ITIL® (version 5) Foundation practice questions to the actual exam questions?

These practice questions are randomly selected from a large pool containing the actual exam questions, you might even get one of these during the official exam.

How many times can I try the ITIL® (version 5) Foundation mock exam?

The mock exam is available one time. If you want to try it another time, it needs to be purchased again, as a new mock exam voucher code needs to be generated by PeopleCert.

When is my result good enough to try the actual test?

To pass the official ITIL® (version 5) Foundation exam, you need to have 26 correct answers out of 40 questions.
Nevertheless, we suggest to aim for a better score on the practice test, somewhere around 80%-90%, as the actual exam questions might be a bit harder.

There are no prerequisites for taking the ITIL® (version 5) Foundation mock exam, however, it is suggested to attend the official course or prepare in some other way.
